Dr. Yuxia Shen

Senior Research Associate

yuxia.shen@northwestern.edu

Yuxia Shen received her Ph.D. degree from Beijing University of Chemical Technology under the supervision of Zhong-Zhen Yu.  From 2017 – 2022, Yuxia was a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Sefaattin Tongay’s group at Arizona State University, with a research interest in quantum materials and two-dimensional polymers. Yuxia joined the Sargent group at Northwestern University in January of 2023 as a senior research associate and the director of laboratory operations. Currently, Dr. Shen is working on lab management and construction, as well as exploring new directions involving catalytic carbon upgradation, quantum materials, and new energy sources.

Dr. Pengfei Ou

Research Associate

pengfei.ou@northwestern.edu

Pengfei Ou received his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Jun Song in April. 2020, from the Department of Mining and Materials Engineering, McGill University, Montreal, Canada. His Ph.D. studies focused on the materials design and property predictions of two-dimensional materials and single-atom catalysts by using the density functional theory. He joined the Sargent group at the University of Toronto as a postdoc in August 2020 and moved to Northwestern University in November 2022, with research interests in computational electrochemistry and machine learning.
